An ode to my hometown…
A hot wind blows across my face
On the ground, cactus and gravel
I know this town, I feel this place
No matter how far I travel
A stillness comes across the land
The animals are all asleep
A zephyr plays across the sand
Unbeknownst to those burrowed deep
Suddenly, lightning and thunder
A symphony of nature’s might
The desert is torn asunder
Behind my window, what a sight!
The clouds lift, the clean air smells sweet
A spirit of joy, renewal
Rainbow puddles under my feet
The mountains shine like a jewel
This is Tucson, land of my birth
Mariachi music, so clear
From whence I came, for what it’s worth
And in my heart, I hold thee near
Sounds like to have an affinity for your hometown, as do I. I hope to visit Phoenix and Tuscon some day.

You totally should, Jay! Maybe even a trip to San Francisco (hint, hint)?
